As long as a man with a vasectomy can civilly marry a woman with a hysterectomy - both of them divorced atheists - I can see no reason to prevent gays from marrying civilly and enjoying all the rights, privileges, & responsibilities as the first couple.

Discuss politely, please

The way I see it, let the individual churches decide if they want to marry gay couples. Marriage is religious (if it isn't it's a civil union). The government interfering with religion against the law, and not just any law, the Constitution.

What is wrong with love in any form if it is mutual.

Marriage is religious

Unfortunately no it's not.  I got married in a court house because neither my wife nor I are religious and we didn't want a big wedding.  Our marriage is still valid though.  Marriage is a legal contract which is part of the reason why divorces can be so messy, they can be caused by breaches in that contract.

That's what pedophiles say...

In a pedophiles case the love is NOT mutual.  The children are not old enough to make that decision or understand those feelings and therefore the love is simply not mutual.
