An internet diary

I haven't been blogging much recently. There's a couple of reasons for that, but the main one is that I haven't been insriped to. With that in mind, I decided to do a little post on what I don't, won't, or haven't blogged on in the past year:

Firstly, my blogiversary. Feb 20th 2004 was my first post, if I remember my logs aright. I just forgot it until recently.

Personal things I haven't blogged about include myself, my family, and my firends. The main reason for this is that this blog is not about me. It is a place where I can rant about other people and events. That's not to say you won't see some things on that subject here (I mean, I posted my latest gadget). But it'll usually be in conjunction with something else. Exception: I just got a digital camera, so as soon as I can find someplace to host the images, I'll be posting pictures of my cats, and maybe of other pictures that I find interesting.

You're not likely to see much about my job or employment status. I was unemployed from the end of 2003 through July 2004 (I did post about my new job at that time). But in general, I won't be posting about my job. For one, I don't really want to accidentally let slip something that is not for public consumption; I am privy to a lot of confidential or proprietary information that I have a responsibility to keep that way. For two, I don't want to have to field questions about the company I work for. And third, my job isn't that exciting. I find it stimulating, in a way, and I do like it. I haven't felt the need to vent in the time I've been there.

Finally, I've burned out a bit on politics. I'm not following the vast panoply of blogs that I used to, and between that and my somewhat oddball schedule, I haven't had time or energy to do posts justice. I may start picking up posting again soon, though.
