Anyone out there got advice on a place to host some images to link to from here? I don't want to use personal webspace from my ISP for a variety of reasons.

Requirements. Must be free. Must not sell my contact info or spam me (I don't care all that much about ads on the host itself.) Doesn't have to have a large amount of space.

I use geocities, works well enough for me. Someone else asked basically the same question a day or two ago, but I can't remember who. If I do I'll edit this... They had a bunch of places listed for them.

I use pix8.net to host the pictures on my blog here. No ads. Never receieved any SPAM. It's been reliable and speedy.

Photobucket has a similar service, but I've never used it, so I can't tell you anything about it.

Several people I know use 250free.com for image hosting. Again, I haven't used it, so I can't tell you much about it, other than they have used it without problems or complaint.

Photobucket.com Link. Or Imageshack Link. Photobucket is great, but you have to register for an account. Has some pop-up ads on the site itself, but nothing too bothersome.

Imageshack, you don't even have to register to use it. Just upload and take note of the link. If you do register, you can create a gallery (which IMHO, isn't really very good as compared to the other). If you are not going to keep track of your images or require a gallery, imageshack is probably the way to go.

Side note about that: what I do is I create a yahoo or some free email account for site registering purposes. If I ever get spammed at all, it won't be to my more important personal e-mail account.

I've seen sites like that, where you just upload and link without having to register, go down quickly before. They can't sustain themselves. I would never trust one again.

Of course, any service, free or paid, is libel to bail on you. I'd feel better with one of the others mentioned than that type of service, though.
