Due to stupid user errors (forgot the cable I need) I haven't been able to get online until just now. Now that I have both my cable and some free time, I decided to set some electrons to screen.
I-CON, for those who don't know, is a multiple media convention (sci-fi, fantasy, anime, TV/movie) convention that is held every year in the latter half of march at SUNY Stony Brook out on Long Island. This is my 3rd year attending, and the first one where I didn't spend the entire time playing Warhammer 40K. Instead, I've seen some anime, played some Magic (got out of the game originally way back around 4th edition release), and hung out with some friends.
People are cool (i've really noticed that with other events, such as Ren faires and other cons. In general, fans as individuals tend to be a little more friendly than average individuals - though there are some real jerks that bring the population average politeness down to normal). The best part about this con is how much fun you can have without spending any more than the cost of attending (ticket and hotel). Even the sealed deck tournament I participated in didn't cost me anything.
