When he's an entrepeneur - and the key to our continued economic growth
Published on April 5, 2004 By IanTyger In Business
Entrepeneurs have made this country great. They lead the wave of innovations. So many of their businesses sink in the first few years, but enough prosper and grow that our country continues to lead the developed world in innovation. Under the current tax laws of the USA, they are generally considered to have the "income" of their company, not a salary paid by that company. This leads them to be considered "rich" by the tax code. The small companies are where the job growth is in this phase of the business cycle. And now John Kerry wants to shut it down. He wants to raise taxes on the "rich" (those whose income is more that $200K per annum). Guess what - most small business owners are in that category; and are barely getting by. In many parts of the country, successful, but not outrageously so, professionals who are married make about that as a couple in many parts of the country; and barely get by due to costs of living.

I predict if Kerry wins, and he rams his tax package through, the loss of jobs will make 2000-2001 look like a mild readjustment. And then he'll go back to that well, and back again, in a vicious cycle of increased tax rates and lowered tax profits.

Well, to answer your question, "When is a rich man not a rich man."
A rich man is not a rich man when he doesn't know Jesus, for what will it profit a man to gain the wealth of the whole world and still lose his soul? GCJ

I'm not entirely sure of the relevance to the discussion? Are you implying that Brad Wardell (the author of the articel linked) is not a good christian? (I have no evidence, one way or the other). Or are you trying to save my soul? Or your own...
