Today is the 65th anniversary of the attack on pearl harbor. And as the first-hand survivors
fade away
, it becomes incumbent on the inheritors to keep them alive in our hearts and memories.

This remembrance is made all the more difficult by recent pop-culture films that fictionalized the Pearl Harbor attacks. I often wonder if kids end up watching the history channel's version in school and wonder why it is not like the movie version. And which will they beleive?

See my next post about controlling the past to control the present. The pop-culture movies are advancing a particular agenda, so they show the events, but in such a way as to change the meaning of those events, and thus their impact on the present.

I like your thoughts on this day. The best way to ensure that it does not happen again is to understand the facts behind Pearl Harbor. Did FDR know that an attack was imminent.

A little late on this. I doubt FDR knew inasmuch as, Jap envoys were in D.C. trying to iron out some kind of agreement.

Btw, I blogged a tribute to Veteran's Day and no one stopped by. Little wonder this page had scarce traffic.
