An internet diary
And what kind of slant does he have?

Seymour Hersh is the man who brough the prisoner abuse scandal to the front pages of most major newspapers, and the TVs of America. He is the prime mover for the scandal. But who is he? Check the linked post for more info.

(I hope my readers have figured out some of my views by now...)

Somehow, this strikes me as the partisan counter attack of those that hve no interest in working out the matter at hand, but just try to spin the political fallout. Given the photographs, official comments, and other corroborating information we have received, what exactly is your point here? That, because we don't much like the first messenger to reach us with the unpleasant news, we can just go into denial about this setback for our country?

Ian, if Mr. Rumsfeld himself is saying that the Prisoner Abuse is credible, and this means that the Bush machine thinks it's real, any site like this is spinning idiocy.

If a thief came to me and told me he'd witnessed a murder, I might be sceptical at first, but if he produced pictures and other evidence. I'd probably believe him.

OK - there are two separate issues here. One is "Did the abuse happen?" Clearly it did. The second one (and the more important one), who is involved. The only evidence we have as regards the second issue is a (still-classified, but released via media channels) report, and Seymour Hersh's anonymous sources.

And on the basis of those anonynmous sources, some people are hounding the Secretary of Defense and the Administration, assuming that their denials are false. And that I have a problem with.
