I guess I haven't been inspired to blog recently. This didn't start out as a life-blog, rather, as a political safety valve. But with Bush's victory, I'm not getting nearly as inspired to post; I can rant in comments on other people's blogs (and I don't even do that much any more). Also, I haven't had as much time. When I started this blog, I was unemployed, and was to remain so for several more months.
It turned out to be providential that I was unemployed for that period of time. It meant that I was able to visit often with my parents during the period of my Mother's decline from cancer (and that I was there when she died). That was a little over a year ago. Shortly after she died, I got the job I have now, and while I do like it, the schedule is a little hard on my free time. And, of course, Puzzle PIrates has almost completely taken over my remaining free time.
Politically, I am somewhat excited over the recent Supreme Court cases and retirement rumors (you ought to be able to guess where I stood on the Kelo decision and the MedMarijuana case). I hope that a strict constructionist is appointed to replace O'Conner; and the confirmation battle should be interesting.
